Arlene Mary Bruns Dierker, Portland, Ore., and formerly of St. Henry and Hope, Idaho, died Jan. 8, 2015.
She was the oldest daughter of Roman and Rita Kremer Bruns. She was married 53 years to Paul Dierker, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Tom (Anne) Dierker and Lora (David) Stevick, all of Portland, Ore.; four grandsons, Leo, Oscar, Devin and Nathan; and six siblings, Robert Bruns, Judy Didier, Jean Hahn, John Bruns, Margie Nottingham and Beverly Bramstedt.
Deceased are a son, Tom, who died Aug. 13, 2012; a brother, Jerry Bruns, who died in 1989, and a sister-in-law, Joan (Pax) Bruns, who died in 2006.

She and her husband were adventuresome people. Much of their lives was spent at their home in Idaho and their winters in Oaxaca, Mexico. Wanting to be with their adult children and their four grandsons, they also spent much of their time in Portland, Ore.
