Herman Hoying
Herman H. Hoying, 99, St. Henry, died Jan. 21, 2015, at Celina Manor.
He was born Jan. 15, 1916, in St. Henry, to Herman and Catherine Albers Hoying. On Oct. 15, 1941, he married Merilda Bergman, who survives in St. Henry.
Also surviving are 14 children, Judy (Neil) Stemley, St. Henry, Carl (Bernice) Hoying, Belle Center, Millie (Marv) Stammen, Greenville, Vern (Sue) Hoying, Celina, Nancy (Jerry) Hemmelgarn, Celina, Karen (Charlie) Gels, St. Henry, Mary Jane (John) Post, Homosassa, Fla., Bonnie (Jack) Knapschaefer, Coldwater, Alice (Dave) Homan, Coldwater, Linda (Mike) Kanney, Celina, Dan (Brenda) Hoying, St. Henry, Lorraine (Kent) Paxson, Minster, Susan Hoying, Centerville and Gary (Annette) Hoying, Coldwater; 40 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; a sister, Justine Wilker, Coldwater; and two sisters-in-law, Naomi Hoying and Salome Pleiman, both of Coldwater.
Deceased are a daughter, Eileen Hoying; two grandchildren; and siblings and in-laws, George Hoying, Alvina (Sebastian) Evers, Vic (Mary) Evers, Albert Wilker, Joe (Anna Rita) Sanders, Wilfred (Julianne) Bergman, Linus (Rita) Bergman and Art Pleiman.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and St. Henry Knights of Columbus and was a former board member of Carthagena school and the Miami Valley Milk Producers Association.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, the Rev. Ron Wilker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 1-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
