Ruby Weadock
Ruby F. Weadock, 98, of 628 West Jay Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 11:40 P.M. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1916, in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence F. and Edith Mae (Forsythe) Huffman. She married Jerome Weadock on December 8, 1936, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1985.
She is survived by two children: Ruth (Ron) Langsdon of Saint Marys; Michael (Barbara) Weadock of Saint Marys; by eight grandchildren: Eric (Suzanne) Langsdon; Mark (Kathy) Langsdon; Lisa (Stephen) Stroh; William DeMora; Michael DeMora; Lori (James) Karner; Michelle (Jeff) Holtz-apple and Angela (Jay) Gibson. She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Andrew (Katie) Langsdon; Philip (Amanda) Langsdon; Hannah Langsdon; Allison Langsdon; Gretchen Langsdon; Beth Kennedy; William Geeslin; Sara (Trevor) Sterling; Rachel Geeslin; Leslie (Chad) Laman; Lindsey (Dillon) Slaven; Mitchell Karner; Maxwell Karner. She is survived by her son-in-law, William DeMora, of Euclid, Ohio. She is survived by three great-great-grandchildren: Ella Langsdon; Mason Sterling and Lillian Slaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two granddaughters: Megan Langsdon and Lauren Geeslin; by two children: Virginia DeMora and Stephen Weadock.
Ruby was a 1934 graduate of Sidney High School. She had been employed at the former Saint Marys Woolen Mill and she owned and operated Ruby's Beauty Shop for many years in Saint Marys. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, where she was active in the Dorcas Society, where she sewed quilts that were donated to church mission funds. She also enjoyed working with ceramics and had volunteered at the Valley Nursing Home for many years.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
