Joan Miller
Joan Opal Miller, 59, of Spencerville, went home to be with Jesus at 11:23 a.m., Sat. May 2, 2015, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
Joan is the wife of Jerry Allen Miller, Sr. They were married Sept. 1, 1974, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Pete Weaver, and he survives. She was born Oct. 16, 1955, in Celina, OH, the daughter of Earl K. & LaVaun O. (Hines) Huey, and they preceded her in death.
Survivors include, 3 children, Jerry A. (Paula) Miller, Jr., June A. (Allen) Clutter, and Jason A. Miller, grandchildren, Charity & Destiny Miller, Adam & Cheyenne Clutter, and Kassey, Nathan, Isabel, & Jesse Miller, siblings, Norma (Ed) Bell, Robert Huey, Danny (Mary) Huey, Judy (John) Vulgamott, Hazel (Roy) Oakes, Connie Wilson, Alice Hook, Dorothy (Ed) Miracle, Gary Huey, Mary Hook, John (Rita) Huey, & Lloyd (Peg) Huey.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles & infant Paul Huey.
A graduate of Mendon Union High School, Joan loved all of her family as they, in return loved her and will miss her. She was her husband's helpmate in whatever they did at church, at home, and the various hobbies they shared. Those hobbies included canning, baking, gardening, and sewing.
A member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Van Wert, OH, she helped teach discipleship and had the gift of helping in many other areas. She will be missed by her church family, her family, and many friends greatly.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Tues. May 5, 2015, at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, Pastor Jim Burns officiating. Burial is to follow in the Mendon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Mon. and 1 hr. prior to the service, Tues. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund and Improvements or the Community Health Professionals of Tri-County.
