Johnnie Jutte
Johnnie T. Jutte, 88, Celina, Ohio, formerly of St. Peter, Ohio, died September 12, 2015 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater, OH.
He was born September 22, 1926, in St. Peter, OH, to the late John and Elizabeth (Koesters) Jutte. On May 12, 1948, he married Luella Wendel and she died April 25, 1978. On November 24, 1979, he married Joanne (Powell) Hellwarth Jutte, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are his daughter, Charlene (Jim) Westgerdes of Fort Recovery, OH; a step son, Larry (Diana) Hellwarth of Celina, OH; two step daughters, Diane (Raymond) Tomko of Cleveland, OH and Deborah (Mel) Gephart of Placerville, CA; a sister, Frances Knapke of Celina, OH; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Ethel Jutte of St. Henry, OH and Viola Ahlers of Coldwater, OH.
Deceased are his son, Don Jutte; three brothers, Alfred, Ralph and Albert Jutte, and five sisters, Loretta Braun, Florentine Fiely, Johanna Keller, Justine Bader and Mildred Knoth.
Johnnie served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Airborne Division. He had retired from farming and was also a retiree of the former New Idea, Coldwater.
Johnnie is remembered as a woodworking craftsman. He took great pride in his work and especially enjoyed building birdhouses and benches from old barn siding.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, OH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
Calling is 3:00 pm-7:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
