Michael Fariello
Michael J. Fariello, 65, died peacefully in his St. Marys home at midnight August 20, 2015.
Michael was born on August 1, 1950, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to his loving parents, Angelo and Eleanor (Schraivogel) Fariello who survive in Kettering, Ohio.
In 1968 Michael graduated from Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering. He then attended Sinclair Community College and Wright State University. He held a variety of positions at WKEF TV, Channel 22 including "Duffy the Dog," and Account Executive for WHIO Radio. He was also Account Executive at several advertising agencies in the Miami Valley.
In 1999, Michael was hired by Skyline Chili where he quickly worked his way up to General Manager of the Troy Restaurant. There, he was responsible for the day to day operation of a store for which he proudly hired and trained his employees while mentoring them for life long experiences.
Year after year, Michael received numerous recognitions and awards including the Highest Sales Increase, the Highest Customer Satisfaction, the Highest Employee Retention, General Manager of the Year, the company's Quality, Service and Cleanliness Award, the Personal Achievement Award, the Million Dollar Round Table Award and Skyline's Highest Award, the Eagle Award.
Michael's faith, family and career, and in that exact order, were the priorities in his life. He treated others the way in which he wanted to be treated.
He is survived by the love of his life and soul mate, Kathy (Rohrbach), his children that he cherished, Nicholas Fariello and Melina (Jack) Waddle, his granddaughters, Francesca Fariello and Renae Waddle, and his siblings, Donna (Tom) Weglewski and Mark (Tina) Fariello. He is also survived by his In-laws Martha and Joe Rohrbach and Jack and Sally Rohrbach, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael was blessed with many strong and lasting friendships, many of which he developed, fostered and cherished throughout his entire life, including with his Boxer Dog, Bucklee Jo.
Michael was proud to be an American. He served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves for twenty-one years.
He was a thirty-plus year member and past President of the American Advertising Federation. He was a member of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trustees and Past President of the Kettering Holiday at Home event. Michael served in many capacities at St. Albert the Great School and Archbishop Alter High School.
Michael was an energetic, bigger than life, full of fun wonderful human being who made a real difference in everything that he did and every life that he touched.
A public Celebration of Life will be held at the Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center at 308 North Main Street, Piqua, OH on Thursday, September 24 at 3:30 p.m. The doors will open at 2:30 p.m.
