Viola Bruns
Viola E. Bruns, age 98, of Coldwater and formerly of St. Sebastian, died on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born August 15, 1917 in Eygpt, Ohio, to the late Bernard & Ursula (Rutschilling) Wehrman. On April 24, 1940, she married Raymond Bruns, who died September 26, 1963.
She is survived by six children, Marge & Walter Albers of Maria Stein, Bonnie Hogan of Enumclaw, Washington, James Bruns of Celina, Linda Bruns of Kettering, Chris & Jane Bruns of Celina and Karen Bruns of Columbus, thirteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and a brother Gene & Margie Wehrman of Yorkshire.
She is preceded in death by a son-in-law Thomas Hogan, a great grandson Zachary Eilerman, siblings Oliva & Joe Eilerman, Adella & Arthur Heitkamp and Albert & Alberta Wehrman and in laws, Clarence & Margaret Bruns, Bob & Alvina Bruns, Ed & Norma Bruns, Leona Bruns and Marie & Al Eilerman.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater and St. Sebastian Church, she was also a member of the St. Sebastian Ladies sodality, the Maria Stein Knights of St. John Auxiliary and its Uniform Rank.
She worked as a nurse's aide in the nursery and obstetrics department at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing and was a volunteer for the hospital sewing group and made quilts for the homeless.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM.
