CHICKASAW - Village council members on Wednesday approved a $15 per month increase in water service fees in 2016.
The increase from $25 per month to $40 per month will generate an estimated $27,000 in much-needed water funds, officials said.

The San Diego Padres declined to pick up the 2016 option on pitcher Cory Luebke's contract on Wednesday.
Had the Padres picked up the option on Luebke, he would have made $7.5 million next season. Instead, the club bought out the option for $1.75 million.
