Leo Bowsher Jr.
Leo Bowsher, Jr. age 90, of Bluffton, Ohio (formerly of Celina) passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at Richland Manor Nursing Home, near Bluffton.
He was born October 17, 1925 in Hammond, Indiana the son of the late Leo and Ruth Bowsher, Sr.
Leo married Margaret E. (Best) May on Apr. 19, 1963, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2007.
He is survived by his Step-Children: Paul & Pamela May of Kingsburg, CA, Harold & Mary May of Lima, OH, Carol & Rev. David Crider of Bluffton, IN and 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, and 12  Great-Great Grandchildren.
Leo was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Bowsher
A U.S. Army Veteran, Leo served in the European Theater during WW II. While fighting in the Battle of the Bulge in Ardennes, he suffered from frozen feet. He was sent to England for six weeks to recover and then was returned to combat in the same battle. Recently, Leo was able to travel on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C., to visit the World War II memorial with fellow veterans.
After his return from military service, Leo worked at Westinghouse, was employed at the Lima-Allen County Home and drove a Yellow Cab, all in the Lima area. He worked for many years at CTS in Berne and after his retirement he was a delivery man for Pullman Bay Restaurant in Celina.
While living in Celina, Leo attended the Celina Church of the Nazarene and had attended the Beaverdam Church of Christ while living in the Bluffton area. He had also served as Superintendent of the Nazarene Church in Berne for several years.
Leo loved the grandkids, he would pay them a quarter to comb his hair, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Other favorite pastimes were fishing and traveling to visit family. Leo also liked to attend baseball and softball games in the area, following high school, church and college teams.
Funeral Services will be held at the Celina Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 AM,  Tuesday, November 17th, with Rev. Chris Riffle officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina with Military Rites by Celina VFW Post #5713 and Celina American Legion Post #210. 
Calling Hours are from 9:30 AM until time of services at the church at 900 Fairground Road, Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Celina Church of the Nazarene.
