Both of Rick Hartings' teams have key returnees from last year's sweep of the Division II state bowling championships. Of those returning, the majority are still underclassmen.
MARIA STEIN - The bowlers of Marion Local return in hopes of being competitive in the newly-aligned, always-tough West Ohio High School Bowling Conference.
With zero letter-winners returning, no doubt this season will be a challenge for the Minster bowling teams.
Each group has big voids to fill, but both have some potentially capable candidates to taking care of that.
NEW BREMEN - The New Bremen girls bowling team has a solid foundation.
The boys team, meanwhile, has a bit of a youth movement on its hands.
Coach Brian Alig is hoping it translates into good results on the lanes this season for the Cardinals.
ROCKFORD - Both Parkway bowling teams feature new faces for the season as they look to move up the WOHSBC standings.
The girls went 8-4 in league matches last season and were fewer than 300 pins shy of qualifying for district in taking sixth at the sectional.
ST. HENRY - The St. Henry Redskins had a really good season last year.
Coach Travis Schlater thinks this campaign will be just as good if not better.
St. Marys boys bowling coach recalls how his team finished last season. It wasn't quite what he had in mind.
"I just looked it up this morning. It was good motivation," said Ross, whose team finished 8-7 overall.
