Maryellen Wright
Maryellen Wright, age 97 of Celina and formerly of West Milton, Ohio passed away at 6:38 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 22, 2015, at The Gardens at Celina.
Maryellen was born on March 31, 1918 in West Milton, Ohio to the late Edward & Nellie (Martindale) Jay. On Nov. 10, 1939 she married Kenneth Owen Wright, who died May 21, 2004.
Survivors include her son Jay Wright & Franco Boada of Miami, Florida, daughter & son-in-law Jayne & Roy Van Dyke of Celina, 4 grandchildren Christopher & Kristen Wright, Anthony & Tamara Wright all of Naples, FL, Chantel & Douglas Rammel of Indianapolis, IN, Christel & Steve Dzendzel of Celina and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jowetta Ann Wright, brothers & sisters-in-law Edwin & Lucille Jay, Charles & Marjorie Jay and one infant great grandchild Bryant Rammel.
She was a life member of the Hoffman United Methodist Church in West Milton and attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina. She also held a life membership with the Troy Elks and was a Past President of the Elks Auxiliary.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Sharon Chapter #132 and the American Legion Post Auxiliary #487. She was a Rainbow Girl's advisor for many years.
Maryellen owned/operated the Wright's Resort & Restaurant (now Sunnyside Inn) for 20 years with her husband.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 28, 2015 at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home in West Milton, with Pastor Robbie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in West Milton.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Friday Nov. 27, 2015 at the Leh-man-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina or from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 28, 2015 at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home in West Milton.
The family would like to thank The Gardens at Celina for their care of Maryellen for the past eleven years and State of the Heart Hospice for their caring support.
