Donald Bohman
Donald E. Bohman, age 86, of Minster, died on Saturday December 19, 2015 at Heritage Manor in Minster.
He was born September 23, 1929 in Minster to the late Edward & Rose (Clune) Bohman. On June 3, 1953, he married Anna (Kelch), who survives in Minster.
He is also survived by three children, Linda & Dick Moorman of White Plains, GA, Tom & Melissa Bohman of Woodstock, GA and Beth & Eric Brandewie of Ft. Loramie; grandchildren, Josh Moorman, Amanda & Tommy Ryan, Jed & Jessica Bohman, Scott Bohman and Shelby Bohman; great-grandchildren, Cole, Reed & Brooks Ryan, and Kyran Bohman; siblings, Connie Dunson Lewis of Sidney and Jim & Linda Bohman of Centerville; in laws, Kathy Bohman of Minster, Paul & Shirley Kelch of New Weston, Charlene & Charles Steinemann of Minster, Marilyn & Gilbert Heitkamp of Tipp City and Julius Hierholzer of St. Henry.
He was preceded in death by children, Robert Bohman & Kelly Bohman, siblings Eileen & Tony Winner and Dan Bohman, parents-in-law Bob & Helen Kelch and in laws Valbert & Betty Henry Kelch-Hierholzer, Sam Dunson, and Carroll Lewis.
He retired from Minster Machine after 44 ½ years was a member of the 25 year club there and continued working for the Village of Minster.
He served in the US Army during WWII in Company A, 720th Military Police. He was a life member of the Minster V.F.W. and American Legion Posts, was a member and past president of Minster F.O.E. #1391.
He was a founding member of the Minster Rescue Squad, he served as Deputy Director of Auglaize County EMA as an amateur radio operator, also served for 12 years on the Minster Village Council and former president of the council.
He was a graduate of Minster High School, a member of the Minster Athletic Boosters and the St. Augustine Orphan Society. Don also worked as an umpire and referee for local Baseball, Basketball and Softball games.
Friends may call from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday December 27, 2015 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
A Prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM on Sunday and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Minster Rescue Squad or the Grand Lake Hospice.
