MINSTER - The Hanover Street School will change hands today.
Minster Local Schools Superintendent Brenda Boeke told school board members Tuesday that officials will close on the sale at 4 p.m. today with Current Medical Services, of Sylva, N.C., and Midnet Media, of Minster.
CELINA - The sheriff's department on Tuesday was granted approval to buy new clothing for inmates and equipment for the jail.
Mercer County Commissioners approved the requests made in writing by Sheriff Jeff Grey.
CELINA - The Mercer County Board of Elections on Tuesday approved the petitions for all candidates but rejected those submitted for a liquor option.

ST. MARYS - A homey new store on Spring Street offers vintage and craft items from local vendors.
Christabella's Vintage, Primitive, Antiques, and More opened Dec. 4. Owner Crystal Hott, 24, St. Marys, said she had hoped to open her own store for years.
