Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Carl Linn Jr.
Carl Linn, Jr., 90, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at his residence.
He was born on March 6, 1925, in Mercer County, Ohio, to Carl and Hulda (Bollenbacher) Linn. On March 20, 1949, he married Phyllis Eileen Shirk, and she preceded him in death on October 31, 2010.
Carl was a graduate of Willshire High School, in Willshire, Ohio. He was a farmer all his life and a faithful member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford. For many years, he was a member of the Consistory at the church, as well as a trustee at the church cemetery.
Surviving are Carl's two children: his son, Dan (Jennifer) Linn of Willshire, Ohio; and his daughter, Gail (Steve) Godfrey of Portland, Indiana. Two grandchildren also survive: Jessica Linn and her fiance, Nathan Ryan, both of Dayton, Ohio; and Ryan (Joy) Linn of Van Wert, Ohio.
Deceased in addition to his wife, Phyllis, is a step brother, Lester Miller.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ on Oregon Rd., Rockford. Officiating will be Pastor Catherine Costello. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call prior to the service, at the church, from 11:00 a.m. up until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to the church or to the donor's choice.
