Josephine Bornhorst
Josephine A. Bornhorst, age 80 of St. Henry, died on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Brookdale, Greenville.
She was born on July 20, 1935 in Frenchtown to the late Cletus and Clara (Hartings) Voskuhl. On November 12, 1958 she married Charles J. Bornhorst in St. Rose. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2010.
She is survived by five children: Christina & Alan Pottkotter, Ft. Recovery, John & Patricia Bornhorst, Concord, N.C., Ken & Stella Bornhorst, South America, Teresa & Michael Wasson, Bradford, and Roger Bornhorst, St. Henry; a daughter-in-law, Shelly & Todd Busse, New Bremen; 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings Mary Evers, Ft. Recovery, Maggie Post, Coldwater, and Moe & Joan Voskuhl, Coldwater; and in-laws, Sharon Voskuhl, Coldwater, Dianne Voskuhl, Minster, Mary Voskuhl, Indiana, Eileen & Lester Poeppelman, Minster, and Jerry & Charlene Bornhorst, Texas.
She is preceded in death by a son Robert Bornhorst, one grandchild, and one great grandchild, siblings; Charlie Voskuhl, Ralph Voskuhl, Luke Voskuhl, Virgil Voskuhl, and Ivo Voskuhl, and in-laws; Melvin Evers, Leo Post, Maurice & Viola Bornhorst, Ann & Vern Gross, and Rosemary Bornhorst.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and its ladies Altar Rosary Sodality. Jo was also a former owner of the Wendelin Tavern, worked as a cook for St. Henry Schools for many years, and also has worked at Gel's IGA.
Jo was an excellent cook, enjoyed working in the garden and will be remembered as an avid bowler and former member of the Chickasaw Chicks Softball team.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 until 6 pm Sunday and 9 until 10 am Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Memorials may be made to the Miami Valley Alzheimer's Association.
