Local election officials were a bit disappointed with the lower-than-anticipated turnout for the highly contested presidential primary on Tuesday but noted the casting and tabulation of ballots went, for the most part, smoothly.

Matt Huffman of Lima defeated Celina native John Adams on Tuesday for the Republican party's nomination for Ohio's 12th Senate District. Both men left the Ohio House after 2014 due to term limits.
