George R. Fisher, 92, formerly of rural St. Marys, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at St. Marys Living Center.

He was born July 16, 1923 in Ft. Recovery, OH to Harve and Sadie (Blank) Fisher. On May 12, 1948 in Indiana he married Peggy Jo Minkner, who died March 22, 2006.

Survivors include daughter Druscilla (Fred) Caudill of Setsonia, FL, daughter Dawn (David) Reinhart of Botkins, OH, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.    

Preceded in death by parents Harve and Sadie Fisher; wife Peggy Jo Fisher.

He was a farmer, millwright and carpenter. George was an avid historian and genealogist. He had a large collection of arrowheads and was a respectful steward of the land.

Private family services will be held.
