Casie Nichole Schmidt, age 37 of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Friday May 13, 2016 at her residence in Celina.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1978 in Celina, Ohio to Peggy S. Huston & Robert L. Owens.

Also surviving is her sister & brother-in-law Kristi & Jonathan Szynarowski of Charlotte, N.C., step brother Jamey & Theresa Owens of Sidney, grandparents Eugene & Lore Huston of Celina, aunts & uncles Nancy & Jack Hemmelgarn of Celina, Tom & Mary Huston of Dexter, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert Sr. & Marguerite Owens.

Casie graduated from Celina High School with the Class of 1997. She was formerly employed at McDonald's in Celina and provided babysitting services for families in the Celina area.

She was a member of the Celina Church of the Nazarene and assisted with the children's department. Casie was very involved with Mercer County Special Olympics for several years. She volunteered with the Relay for Life every year and enjoyed bowling and loved her cat.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Celina Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Chris Riffle officiating.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral and a hour before services on Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Special Olympics.
