E. Marianne Roether
E. Marianne Roether, age 82, of rural Celina, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 18, 2016, at her residence.
She was born October 25, 1933, in Hardin County to the late Robert McCloud & Ruth (Lowe) McClure, the only daughter of their five children.
She is survived by her four McClure brothers and their wives: Harold, Russell & Shirley, LaVerne & June, and Don & Marilyn, and fourteen Nieces & Nephews. Marianne and her late husband David were married on June 9, 1956 and had two Children: Kathy Langsdon (married to Mark) and Paul Roether, as well as one Grandchild, Beth Kennedy, all of whom survive.
Marianne was preceded in death by her Husband David on September 10, 2003, sisters-in-law: Betty, Marie, and Lorraine McClure, and a Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law: William & Delores Roether.
Mrs. Roether graduated from Ridgemont High School in 1952. She then attended the Lima Memorial School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1954.
Marianne's life was a life full of love on so many levels: love for her family and friends, which she showed them every day; love for music, evidenced best by her many years as the organist at the former Neptune Church of God, where she was a long-time member; and love for nursing, where as a Registered Nurse working at Gibbons Hospital in Celina, St. Marys Living Center, Otterbein St. Marys, Colonial Nursing Center in Rockford, and with Dr. Pyles and Dr. Fox, she was able to bless so many patients with her caring nature in a career spanning over 50 years.
Mrs. Roether's fiery personality and penchant for jokes were only matched by her generous spirit. Even in the midst of her battle with Alzheimer's, Marianne's wit and sense of humor shone through. She enjoyed following her family's activities throughout the years. Hers was a life well-lived, and she will be terribly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 21 at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Tony Richmond officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are from 2:00-7:00 P.M., Friday, May 20, and one hour prior to services on Saturday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
