Mary Smalley
Mary K. (Birt) Smalley, age 94 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Sunday June 5, 2016 at the Otterbein Home in St. Marys.
She was born on August 25, 1921 in North Star, Ohio to the late Frank and Clara (Murray) Birt. On August 30, 1940 she married Edgar M. Smalley, who passed away on Oct. 3, 1989.
Survivors include her four children Edgar F. (Judy) Smalley of Willoughby, Charlotte (Don) Ricard of St. Marys, Karen Smalley of Celina, Elizabeth (Mark) Hoelscher of Ft. Loramie, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two great great granddaughters, her sister Patty Fleck of Celina.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Joe Ricard, her sisters, Violet Linneman Davis, Thelma Ott, and brothers Lovell Birt and Doyle Birt.
She graduated from Celina High School with the Class of 1939. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina. Her interests included cooking and the 500 Card Club.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday June 10, 2016 at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina, with Rev. John Exman officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday June 9, 2016 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina and one hour prior to services at the Church on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina.
