Eva Ritchie
Eva B. Ritchie, age 89, of Celina, passed away at 10:23 A.M., Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born August 16, 1926 in Celina, to the late Frank & Jennie (Painter) Alexander. Eva married Robert L. Ritchie Sr. on June 28, 1941, and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2001.
Surviving is their son and his fiancee: Robert L. Ritchie Jr. and Shelva Etgen of Celina, her sister, Joann Hoenie of St. Marys, sisters-in-law: Dorothy Alexander of Celina and Jennie Merkle of Montezuma, and a brother-in-law, Larry Hamilton of Mendon. She is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews, including: Vickie & Mike Rhodes, Bill Alexander Jr., Rick & Sharon Alexander, Jerry & Beverly Hoenie and Tom & Sue Jacobs, all of Celina, Tina & Scott Hasenjager of Texas, Tricia & Steve Neargarder of Wapakoneta, Patty & Robert Bullock of Lima, Michael & Victoria Hoenie of Pennsylvania and Patricia & Mark Cisco of New Bremen, and many great nieces & nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy K. Ritchie, brothers & sisters: Faye, Frank & Bill Alexander Sr., Ruth Jacobs and Harry Young, brothers & sisters-in law: Gerald Hoenie, Art Jacobs, Betty Hamilton, Vi & Ril Miller and Lewis Merkle Jr., a niece, Linda August and nephews: Jim & Bobby Jacobs.
She had attended Celina High School. Eva was a meticulous homemaker and a wonderful cook. If you ever left her table hungry, it was your own fault. Eva made noodles that were "to die for." She loved to go fishing, especially on Lake Erie.
Eva was the sweetest, most thoughtful, loving and caring person, always worried about everyone but herself. She thought the world and all of her son.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 17, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Richard Van Horn, officiating. Burial will be at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling Hours are 2-4 & 6-8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 16, and an hour prior to services on Friday, at the Funeral Home.
