Stanferd Eshleman
Stanferd R. Eshleman age 87 of Minster died at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born on February 8, 1929 in St. Marys Ohio to the late Dewey & Maude (Hertenstein) Eshleman. On September 2, 1950 at St. Augustine Church in Minster he married Marilyn M. Kohnen, who preceded him in death on January 14, 1995. On April 20 1996 at Transfiguration Church West Milton he married Mary E. Lybarger, who preceded him in death on February 1, 2006.
He is survived by three children, Gary Eshleman Minster, Mike Eshleman, New Knoxville, Carol Eshleman, Russia and daughter-in-law Goldie Vining, St. Marys. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Daniell & Dan Dukro, Amanda & Scott Hayes, Jon Argabright, Nicole & Binder Singh, Ashlei Vining, 5 great grandchildren, Alex Aldrich, Katelyn & Scott Hayes, Rupinder Singh, Brooklyn McEldowney, in-laws, Ruth Eshleman, Shirley Eshleman, Stanley Pierce.
He was preceded in death by son Robert Eshleman on April 3, 2013, step father Vernon Poppe, siblings, Wanda Engel, Eldon Eshleman, Norman Eshleman, Marge Eshleman; in-laws, Guy Engel, Henry & Joan Kohnen, Dennis Kohnen, Lois Pierce, Jerry & Karen Shawler.
He graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School in 1948. He started his working career at Meadow Gold Dairy Plant, New Bremen and then worked for 42 years at Frank Morsey and Sons in Minster as first a truck driver and then in the plant until he retired. After retirement he kept busy working part time at Hoge Lumber in New Knoxville.
He liked to fish, play bingo, was a NASCAR fan and also a Reds, Colts & Steelers fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and in his later years liked to sit and watch the trains.
Friends and family may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Hogenkamp Funeral Home Minster.
A Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster with Sister Marla Gipson officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Augustine Cemetery.
