Richard was a 1942 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
Richard was a member of our Greatest Generation having served in the United States Army during World War II earning both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a lifetime member of the St. Marys VFW Post 9289. Richard was also a member of the Wapakoneta Community Worship Center where he loved to sing to his fellow congregants his signature hymn "The Lighthouse."
Richard loved his family, was extremely proud of his service to his country, his association with Wapakoneta Community Worship Center, and the blessings of great health until the last few weeks of his life.
Like a typical Kellermeyer, he loved the good company of family and friends, a great card game, and to sing songs, dance, or play the piano. He was a coin collector and enjoyed Civil War history and from time to time like many of his generation shared only snippets of the history he lived in World War II.
