Norma Buening
Norma F. Buening age 88 of Maria Stein, Ohio passed away peacefully at 7:00 AM Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Elmwood of New Bremen.
She was born on February 10, 1928 in Maria Stein, Ohio to the late Joseph & Regina (Rolfes) Puthoff. She married Roman Buening on September 1, 1951, at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein and celebrated 64 years of marriage. He survives in Maria Stein.
She is also survived by children: John & Barb Buening, Circleville, Ruth & Virg Kremer, New Bremen, Marge & Keith Stucke, North Star, Irene & Nick Kleinhenz, Mary Jo & Jeff Bruns, Doris Jean "Dee Dee" & Don Bender, all of St. Henry, Fred & Brenda Buening, Maria Stein, 27 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Imelda Puthoff, Chickasaw, Alma Puthoff, Coldwater, Roseann Puthoff, Minster, Marita & Tony Grilliot, Celina, Mary & Robert Demange, Ansonia, Jane Buening and Juanita Buening, both of Coldwater, brothers-in-law, Ernest & Dorothy Buening and Urban & Rita Buening both of Coldwater.
She was preceded in death by grandchildren Julie Kremer and Dale Bruns, brothers Lawrence, Edwin, Leander and Alvin Puthoff, sisters infant twin sister Velma Puthoff and Lauretta & Herman Bergman, parents-in-law Ben & Julianna (Bruggeman) Buening, in-laws, Albert Buening, Greg & Helen Buening, Paul Buening, Louis Buening, and Clarence Buening.
Norma was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ladies Sodality of the Church and of the Eagles Auxiliary, Coldwater. She was a homemaker and farmer for the first several years of marriage, then worked for Globus Printing and Crown Equipment. She retired from Crown in 1995.
After retiring from Crown she and Romie went trucking together. She was also an assistant wedding cook with her aunt Stella Liesner. Norma loved to sew, enjoyed family gatherings and her grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ohio with Rev. Tom Brenberger celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-St. Henry on Sunday, July 24, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
