Smoke on the water

Flames shoot from a boat on Grand Lake at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday near Bella's Italian Grille, Celina. Celina Fire Chief Doug Wolters said the two occupants had jumped overboard and swam less than 100 feet to shore with no injuries. They were preparing to boat on the lake when a suspected mechanical failure in the engine compartment started the fire, he said. The boat is considered a total loss, Wolters said. A video of the fire is available on The Daily Standard's website.
