Sister Grace Miriam
Sister Grace Miriam, SFP, entered into her heavenly home on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 9:25 AM at St. Clares Convent in Cincinnati.
She was born Patricia Pleiman on April 9, 1938, to the late Edward & Margaret (Shafer) Pleiman.
She is survived by brothers and sisters, Mary Louis Dahlinghaus, Ellen & John Grillot, Helen Grogean, James & Joan Pleiman, Nicholas & Rosie Pleiman, Jerome Pleiman, Johanna Harlamert-Koesters & Charles Koesters, Teresa & William Winner, a brother-in-law, Robert Van Leeuwen, a sister-in-law, Lynn Pleiman-Ranly & Herb Ranly, 50 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Irene, a sister, Delores Van Leeuwen, a brother, Edward Pleiman, Jr., brothers-in-law, Norbert Dahlinghaus, James Grogean and Larry Harlamert and sister-in-law, Jeannette Pleiman.
She entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor on June 27, 1956. She was a graduate of the University of Dayton, with a degree in Nursing and later earned a degree in Psychology.
Her passion was devoted to helping the poor and under-privileged. She carried that out during her 60 years of service in New York and Cincinnati, where she started and administrated many missions.
She gave countless people hope for their future. She was un-selfish, loving, energetic, always with a positive attitude and the first one ready to help anyone in need. She was loved and admired by many for her diligent work, and will be dearly missed by her family, Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, friends and co-workers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 13 at St. Clares Chapel in Cincinnati. Burial will follow at the Convent cemetery.
Calling will be held beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday at the Chapel.
