Dorothea England
Dorothea "Jean" England, age 78, of Mendon, passed away at 6:27 A.M., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at her residence.
Born on August 8, 1938 in Celina, Jean was a daughter of the late Harry Benjamin & Ida Ruth (Dietch) Young. She married Ernest P. "Ernie" England on June 30, 1959, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2016.
Surviving are their five Children: Terry & Terri Jo England of Spencerville, Ernie II & Jessica England of Rockford, Pam & Scott Stachler of Coldwater, Kim & Rob Zizelman of Mendon, and Joe & Vicki England of Van Wert, thirteen Grandchildren and twenty-one Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by nine Brothers & Sisters: Bonnie & Ralph Bensman of St. Marys, Larry & Connie Young of Sioux City, IA, Kathy Gibson of Wapakoneta, Sharon & Dan King and Tim & Linda Young of Venedocia, John & Bonnie Young of Rockford, Roberta & Mike Sutter of Coldwater, and Alberta & Paul Siegrist of St. Henry, and Sisters-in-law: Doris Young of Mendon, Sharon Young of St. Marys, and Faye Miracle, Eva Jones and Dorothy Partin, all of Middlesboro, KY.
Preceding Jean in death were four Brothers & two Sisters-in-law: Harry Benjamin "Bennie" Young Sr., Steve & Martha Young, Ralph Young, and Daniel & Carolyn Young, a Grandchild: Ashley England, and Brothers-in-law: Burl, Charles "Chalk", Arnold, Earl, Harold, J.C. & Glen England.
Jean enjoyed working in long-term care facilities. She had been a State Tested Nursing Assistant at Celina Manor Nursing Home and the Housekeeping Supervisor at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
Favorite pastimes for Jean were bowling, playing bingo, and reading novels. Jean also enjoyed quilting, and had created many handmade quilts for her family. Her greatest love was watching and being with the Grandkids. She served as babysitter for all the youngest of her Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 25, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling Hours are from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 24, and one hour prior to services on Thursday, at the Mendon Funeral Home.
