Area native Fought wins unopposed contest
CELINA - Only 31 people showed up at the polls on Tuesday to vote in the special Democratic primary election, leaving much idle time for 30 poll workers on duty from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
CELINA - As part of an effort to bring area farmers, developers, business leaders and politicians together to improve Grand Lake's water quality, 45 people took part in a series of meetings and tours last weekend.
Gift pays for instrument rental
COLDWATER - One student's generosity will give future musicians an opportunity to play in the high school band.
Coldwater High School freshman Diana Rose on Tuesday donated $400 to allow students from low-income families to participate in a rental program for musical instruments.
CELINA - City council members on Monday passed first reading of legislation to update policies to deal with ongoing issues within municipal parks.
Some major concerns addressed are free-roaming dogs and the feces they leave behind, alcohol consumption and garbage dumping.
