Marlene Winner
Marlene Alberta Winner, 82, died on October 28, 2016 in Roswell, GA. She was under the care of Hospice after suffering a stroke in September.
She was born March 27, 1934 in Fort Recovery, to Leo and Alberta (Vogel) Guggenbiller and graduated from Fort Recovery High School. On September 1, 1956 she married Dr. James H. Winner, who passed away on Dec. 16, 1997 after years of struggling with Alzheimer's. Dr. Winner practiced veterinary medicine at his office between Celina and St. Marys, OH from 1961 until 1989.
Marlene was a home-maker and member of Phi Beta Psi sorority of Celina. She moved to Georgia in 1996 so she and her husband could be closer to her daughters. She was a member of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, Roswell, GA.
Surviving are three sisters, Donna Parisi, Wisconsin, Marguerite Kreider, South Dakota, and Virginia (Ralph) Bechtol, Ft. Recovery, OH; two children, Sarah Winner, Roswell, GA; and Dan (Mary Ann) Winner, Lovettsville ,VA; and four grandchildren.
Deceased are two daughters, Amy Louise (d. 2014) and Anna Marie(d. 1973), and two brothers, Jerome and David Guggenbiller.
She is the sister-in-law of Eunice Winner, Norman Winner and Gerry and Betty Huelsman, all of Minster, OH; Bill and Teresa Winner of Maria Stein, OH, and Dr. Bob and Judy Geiger of Port Clinton, OH.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 A.M. (Monday) November 7, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, Rev. Kenneth Alt officiating.
At her request, there will be no visitation or graveside services. Private family interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Celina, OH.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
