Rebecca Lytle
Rebecca "Becky" Lytle, age 71, of Celina went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2016.
She was born on December 16, 1944, in Lima, OH, one of the daughters of R. Stanley and Juanita Tam. On August 19, 1967, she married Wesley A. Lytle who survives.
Becky was a graduate of Lima Senior High School in Lima, OH; Houghton College in Houghton, NY; and she obtained her master's degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
Known for her infectious smile and contagious laugh, people were drawn to Becky, and she enjoyed helping and serving them.
As an educator, she taught elementary school for nine years in Rochester, NY; Marion, IN; and Lima, OH. Her true passion was teaching and facilitating Bible studies of which she has led hundreds. She also mentored many young women and volunteered in numerous ministries at Cable Road Alliance Church in Lima, OH, and Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, OH.
She was a member of University Women's Club in Celina and served as president for one term. Becky's interests included sewing and traveling across the country and around the world on mission trips and vacations.
In addition to her husband Wes, Becky is survived by: two daughters, Jennifer (Chris) McNiven of Fishers, IN, and Kristin (Darrell) Kincer of Lexington, KY, and four grandchildren; her father Stanley Tam; three sisters, Rachel (Glen) Day of Westerville, OH; Prudence (Darrell) Long of Lima, OH; and Candace (Paul) VonTobel of Valparaiso, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Juanita Tam.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 4, at Grand Lake UMC. (St. Paul's Campus), The Rev. Matt Reynolds will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Diane Mendelson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima.
Family and friends may gather from 2 to 8 PM on Thursday, November 3, at Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, 901 Myers Road, Celina, OH; and at Grand Lake United Methodist Church (St. Paul's Campus), 119 E. Fulton St., Celina, OH, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 4.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grand Lake United Methodist Church, 119 E. Fulton St., Celina, OH 45822; One Mission Society, PO Box A, Greenwood, IN 46142; or Houghton College, 1 Willard Ave., Houghton, NY 14744.
