Gerald Franck
Gerald L. "Gerry" Franck, 76, of Tipp City, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Gerry was born July 23, 1940 in Celina, Ohio, to Malcolm and Rita (Tobe) Franck. His father preceded him, and his mother resides in St. Henry. On Feb. 20, 1965, he married Linda R. Bensman who resides in Tipp City.
Gerry and Linda have three children and nine grandchildren: Doug and Kim Franck of Beavercreek, Diane and Mike Flora of Tipp City, and Marcia and Mickey Thompson of Tipp City. He is survived by his two brothers, Mark (Phyllis) Franck, and Lowell (Diane) Franck and four sisters: Virginia (Paul) Osterholt, Karen (James) Hoying, Sandra (Dennis) Huelsman and Patricia (John) Franzer.
He served in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician and earned degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology at Sinclair Community College, Industrial Technology at Miami University, and MBA at the University of Dayton. He retired as Director of International Sales from Sheffield Measurement in Dayton, Ohio after 30 years of service.
Gerry was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. He was also an avid fisherman and devoted UD Flyers basketball fan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 753 S. Hyatt St., Tipp City, OH; burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation 2:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday at Fring And Bayliff Funeral Home 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371 and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Monday.
Contributions may be made in loving memory of Gerry to the "Gifts for Yanks" program for the Dayton area Veteran's in care of Frank E. Robinson Post #586, 377 N. Third St., Tipp City, OH 45371.
