Sherri Wissman
Sherri Ann Wissman, age 45, formerly of New Bremen died on Friday, December 30, 2016 at her residence in New Albany, OH., surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born on June 12, 1971 in Sacramento, CA. She was the daughter of Terry and Sally (Andrews) Wissman who survive near St. Marys.
Also surviving is her sister and brother in law Tracy and Jason Oldiges and her niece and nephew Elise and Jack Oldiges, all of Minster, her maternal grandmother JoAnn Andrews of Brookville, OH., and several aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her special friend Eric Chen of Baltimore, MD., and her rescued dog Grover.
Sherri was a 1989 graduate of New Bremen High School where she was the Senior Class President. She attended and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Ohio State University in Columbus in 1994. She continued working at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus as an RN, first in the ICU bedside and in 1999 she joined the heart transplant team as the Heart Team Coordinator.
She also was a founding member and was instrumental in the development and success of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program and had been a full time LVAD (Ventricular Assist Device) coordinator, serving nearly 500 patients in the past 15 years.
Sherri was passionate about her job and dedicated to improve the lives of patients who needed the "team's" skills. She loved traveling and the theater and had an interest her entire life in the space program, and as a young lady, attended Space Camp in Huntsville, AL.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Paul United Church of Christ, located at 119 N. Franklin St., New Bremen. Inurnment will be in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Saturday at the church.
