DNA sent to firm to obtain more details
CELINA - Mercer County Sheriff's Office personnel have sent a DNA profile extracted from human bones discovered a year ago outside of Celina to a private company to obtain a more detailed profile of the homicide victim. [More]
Crashes claimed seven lives last year
The number of traffic fatalities across the Grand Lake area in 2016 was lower than in the previous year.
Mercer County Sheriff's deputies investigated three crashes that caused three deaths. In the past five years, Mercer County has seen an average of about six fatal accidents per year.
Montezuma
MONTEZUMA - Village council members on Wednesday approved the 2017 budget, totaling $552,518.
In the general fund, $45,112 was appropriated, The fund covers $4,175 for salaries, including $750 for the mayor, $1,575 for council members and $1,850 for the clerk-treasurer.
