Elisabeth McClure
Elisabeth (Redfern) - Lib - McClure, wife of the late Herbert Lyle McClure, died February 25, 2017.
Lib was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, and when a child she and her family moved to Wilmette, Illinois, and later moved to Ravenna, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Dyke-Spenserian Business School, Cleveland, after which she was a secretary to the Dean of Women at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.
Lib taught senior English and was head of the department in Celina, Ohio. Later they moved to Belfast, Maine, where she taught high school English until she retired.
She was a docent at the Farnsworth, an active member of the American Association of University Women, a chairman of the Author's Series besides teaching at night school and teaching Shakespeare at Senior College.
The McClures were blessed with three children. From Chester, Virginia, James Redfern McClure and Linda (Nadeau) McClure and their children Megyn Elisabeth (McClure) Robertson and Patrick Robertson and Ian McClure. From Belfast Maine, Andrew Redfern McClure and Carole (Deans) McClure and their children Meghan (McClure) Williams and Chris Williams and their children Reese and Ruby. Brittany (McClure) Tarbox and Charles Tarbox and their children Finnigan, Oliver, and Halle. From Durhan, New Hampshire, Dorothy (McClure) James and Ronald James and their children Abigail (James) Sunderlin and Jamie Sunderlin and their daughter Mia and Benjamin Streeter James and Phoebe James.
In 2011, she and Mr. McClure moved to Durham, New Hampshire to live with their daughter and son-in-law. Here she died on February 25, 2017.
Interment will be at the family's discretion in Ravenna, Ohio, for Lib and Herb.
