Madeline Hunter
Madeline M. Hunter, 94, formerly of Saint Marys, died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
She was born October 29, 1922, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Henry and Madeline (Widner) Bubp. She married Arthur F. Hunter on November 5, 1945, and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1975.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Nancy) Hunter of Wapakoneta; Kathleen (Milan) Kovacek of Elida; Steven (Karen) Hunter of Celina; Timothy (Cheryl) Hunter of Holland, Ohio. She is survived by 6 grandchildren: Thomas (Kristina) Hunter; Kerri (James) Smith; Jeff Hunter; Christopher (Lindsay) Kovacek; Tyler (Danielle) Hunter; Ellen (Aaron Adams) Hunter; and 11 great-grandchildren; by numerous nieces and nephews; by a brother-in-law, Ken Hunter of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; by her brothers, Henry "Bud" Bubp; Geary Bubp; by her sisters-in-law, Eileen Bubp and Betty Bubp.
She was a 1940 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School and a 1943 graduate of Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from the Valley Nursing Home in Saint Marys, where she worked for many years as a registered nurse.
She is a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys; a member of the Altar Society of the Church; Holy Rosary Hospital Guild, life member; Good Samaritan Hospital Alumni Association.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Saint Marys, Fr. Barry Stechschulte, celebrant. Burial will follow.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Ohio.
