Fred Richards
Fred B. Richards, age 88, of Celina, Ohio, passed away at 2:51 pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:51 pm at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. He was born June 15, 1928 in Fonde, Kentucky to the late Elmer and Easter (Edes) Richards.
On October 28, 1950 he married Helen Shumate and she survives at the residence in Celina.
He is also survived by his children, Donna (Richard) Birt, Celina, Jackie (Michael) Fowler, Celina, Tina Yoder, Celina, Wayne Richards, Wapakoneta, Glen Richards, Celina, and Mike (Tracy) Richards, St. Marys; two sisters, Clara Mathews, Celina, and Shirley Rhodes, St. Marys; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a son, Tim Richards; two brothers, Pleas (Ruby) Richards, and Elbert (Pauline) Richards; two sisters, Pearl (Gene) Arters, and Mary Jane (Pete) Van Etten; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Mathews, and Murphy Rhodes.
Fred retired from Superior Coach in Lima after many years of service. He was a member of Abounding Grace Ministries in Celina.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the Cisco Funeral Home of Celina, with Rev. Rick Brosher officiating; the family will receive friends from 10:00 am-1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
