Cloid Edmiston
Cloid Burton "Ted" Edmiston, age 87 of Piqua, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home.
Ted was born in Montezuma, Ohio on November 23, 1929 to the (late) Harold & Bertha M. (Tobin) Edmiston; a graduate of Celina High School, Class of 1947; served in the National Guard as Sergeant for three years; was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War as Army Security; worked at Celina Daily Standard-City Daily News for six years; worked as Newspaper Production Manager at BNT Paper Printing/Publishing Co for six years; was General Foreman at Piqua Daily Call for 12 years; retired with 12 years of service from Miami Industries, Piqua as Quality Control Inspector; a F&AM of the Masonic Lodge of Celina for 63 years; member of Madison Avenue First Church of God; was a talented and fantastic woodworker and carpenter and was an avid gardener.
Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Helen M. (Havenar) Edmiston in 1997; daughter, Debra Mae Edmiston in 1965, son, Scott B. Edmiston in 2016; and an infant brother.
Ted is survived by his wife of 17½ years, Sue A. (Mendenhall) Edmiston; two grandchildren, Nicholas Edmiston of Piqua, Nicole & Corey Urbanski of Powell, OH; great-grandchildren, Avery Grace Urbanski, Gavin Jase Edmiston, Harper Urbanski; brother, Mick & Shirley Edmiston of New Haven, IN; sister, Marceita Brookhart of Celina; step-children, Lorraine & Randy Spradlin, Chet & Marie Huffman, Penny E. Huffman; step-grandchildren, Malia Prout, Matthew Prout, Kiersten Huffman & Lorri Stump; four step-great-grandsons; other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service Saturday, July 1st at the Madison Avenue First Church of God, 922 Madison Avenue, Piqua.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or Madison Avenue First Church of God.
