Edward Hoehne
Edward J. Hoehne, age 75, Houston, passed away of natural causes Monday morning, June 19, 2017, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney, Ohio.
He was born December 16, 1941, in Newport, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Eleanor (Borchers) Hoehne. On June 29, 1968, at St. John the Baptist Church in Maria Stein, Ed married Kathleen A. (Leugers) Hoehne who survives.
Also surviving are three children: Kim & Mike Jacobs of West Milton, Jeff & Maria Hoehne of Russia, and Becky & Matt Beaver of Houston; 14 grandchildren: Brandon, Taylor, Megan, and Rachel Jacobs, Ella, Adam, Claudia, Abraham, and Vivian Hoehne, and Isaiah, Dominic, Elijah, Luke, and Carmen Beaver; siblings: Carl Hoehne of New Bremen, Frank Hoehne of Fort Loramie, Dorothy & Gene Richard of Versailles, Paul & Connie Hoehne of Russia, Larry & Ginny Hoehne, Jim & Mary Hoehne, and Jan & Leon Stockman, all of Fort Loramie; sisters & brothers-in-law: Doris Hoehne of Fort Loramie, Marilyn & Jim York of Versailles, David Leugers of Colorado, Judy & Marvin Wilson of Celina and Bob & Sandy Leugers of New Bremen. He was preceded in death by infant twin children, Kerry and Kevin Hoehne; two brothers, Urban and Cyril Hoehne and sisters-in-law, Alberta and Marlene Hoehne.
Ed was a 1959 graduate of Russia High School. He retired in 2006 from The Dannon Company where he had been employed 38 years.
Ed was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, St. Remy Knights of Columbus, and a lifetime member of the Newport Sportsman Club. He had also been a past Cynthian Township Zoning Officer.
Ed was fond of playing softball, an avid bowler, and a Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, family vacations, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, June 23, 2017, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Newport with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
