About 20 tons of turkey shavings lie in the ditch and on the westbound lane of U.S. 33, east of U.S. 127, in Dublin Township after a semitrailer split open just after 11 a.m. Wednesday. According to a Mercer County Sheriff's Office report, the trailer's side wall buckled and gave way, causing the floor to buckle. Capt. Doug Timmerman said no one was injured in the incident. Assisting at the scene were personnel from Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers, Mercer County Emergency Management Association, Mercer County Soil and Water District, Jackson's Garage, Stose Farms and VanTilburg Farms, the report indicated. Responders were on scene until about 8 p.m., Timmerman said.
