Esther Rosenbeck
Esther C. Rosenbeck, 98, of Coldwater, died Friday, July 28, 2017 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born March 20, 1919 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Lewis and Clara (Heiman) Rumschlag. On January 24, 1942 she married Leonard Rosenbeck and he died June 4, 2001.
She is survived by children: Julia & Elmer Heitkamp of Ft. Recovery, Gerald Rosenbeck of Ft. White, FL, Thomas & Carol Rosenbeck of Coldwater, Roger & Sue Rosenbeck of Centerburg, Jeanne Lozenski of Milton, FL, Carol & Tony Roby of New Knoxville, Donald & Mary Rosenbeck of Jackson Center and Donna & John Walker of Wilmington; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Catherine Rumschlag, Cletus Rumschlag, Jean Rumschlag, Louis Rumschlag, Thomas Rumschlag, and Monica and Clifford Wyss; in-laws: Lois Rumschlag and Vicky Rosenbeck.
She is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Mary Rosenbeck; sons-in-law, John Lozenski and Steven Varner; 2 grandchildren, Christa & Ryan; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Margaret & Cy Becker, Dorothy Rumschlag, Dolores & John Schmit and Rita & John Girard; Br. Denis Rumschlag, C.PP.S., Sr. Clara Ann Rumschlag, CSC, Herman and Agnes Rumschlag, Jerome Rumschlag; and in laws: Kathleen Rumschlag; Loretta Rumschlag, Leo Rosenbeck, Clarence & Rosemary Rosenbeck, Albert Rosenbeck, Ferd & Estella Rosenbeck, Veronica & Mike Hilgeford, Pauline & Clarence Gerlach and Mildred & Marcellus Hausfeld.
Esther was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality of the church, worked for many years at the St. Charles Center in Carthagena and volunteered at Briarwood Manor.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 pm on Monday and 9 to 10 am Tuesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
