Communities to host 2017 trick or treat, parades

Area trick or treat and Halloween event times are as follows:

Celina
The Celina Lions Club Halloween Parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 29. Participants should line up at the South Main Street municipal parking lot at 2 p.m. Costume judging will take place from 2:15-2:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded by costume category. Trick or treat will follow from 4-6 p.m.

Coldwater
Trick or treat will be from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 29 The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. that day in the parking lot by the pool in Memorial Park.

Fort Recovery
The Merchants Association in Fort Recovery will sponsor a parade of kids in costume along with the high school marching band starting at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 29. The parade will begin at the high school and end at Van Trees Park Amphitheater, where costume judging will take place at 3:30 p.m. Trick or treat will follow from 4-6 p.m.

Marion community
Trick or treat in the Marion community is from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 22.

Mendon
Trick or treat in Mendon is from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 28 The annual costume judging, sponsored by the Mendon Lions Club, will follow at 7 p.m. at the fire department/township building. Those planning to participate in the costume judging should meet at the fire department building.
Contestants will be grouped by school grade level. A separate adult category is included. Prizes are awarded to the first three places in each group. The first-place winner from each group then will be eligible for the over all grand prize for best costume.
The fire department also will host a chili supper from 4-7 p.m. at the fire department building. Soups, sandwiches, desserts and drinks will be served.

Minster
Trick-or-treat in Minster is from 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 26.

Montezuma
Trick or treat in Montezuma is from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28.

New Bremen
New Bremen's cider time and parade will be Oct. 29. Parade lineup will gather at the northwest parking lot of Komminsk Park at 1 p.m. The parade will start at 1:30 p.m. and end at the Crown Pavilion, where doughnuts and cider will be served and a costume contest and hay rides will be available. Trick or treat will immediately follow cider time, about 3:30-6 p.m.

Rockford
Rockford's trick or treat is from 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 28. Costume judging will be held at 8 p.m. at fire department.

St. Henry
Trick or treat in St. Henry is from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 29.

St. Marys
St. Marys' trick or treat is from 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 26.
