Darrell Nevergall, 89, of Celina, Ohio died Oct. 20, 2017 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born in Auglaize County on July 24, 1928 to the late Charles & Murlie (Sealschott) Nevergall.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers Charles and Thomas Nevergall.

On June 3, 1962 he married Opal Wurster, who lives in Celina. Also surviving are his two children Charles Nevergall and his fiancée Linda Ramirez of Celina and Jeanette and Mike Brackman of Celina, two grandchildren Heather and Ross Brackman.

Darrell served his country in the United States Army in South Korea for nine months. Then worked for Midwest Electric Company as a lineman for 44 years and later worked at Walmart for eleven years.

Darrell was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina and he was also a member of the American Legion Post #323 in St. Marys. Darrell was also an auxiliary patrolman for the Highway Patrol based out of St. Marys. He enjoyed watching Army movies on TV and being with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday Oct. 25, 2017 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. John Exman officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, with Military Honors provided by the St. Marys American Legion.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 24, 2017 and an hour before services at the funeral home.
