Lawrence Gross
Lawrence C. "Larry" Gross, 80, of Piqua, died at 12:05 pm Saturday October 28, 2017 at Lane Park of Sidney.
He was born July 22, 1937 in Coldwater to the late Herbert and Madonna (Harlett) Gross. He married Constance S. Hoening February 13, 1960 in Coldwater and she survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mary Jo (Dave) Reister of Piqua, Susan (Lee) LaFleur of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ann (Nick) Bergman of Piqua, Nancy (Tim) Hatcher of Piqua; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ron (Reiko) Gross, Jim Gross, Don (Deb) Gross, all of Coldwater; and two sisters, Barb Eischen of Coldwater and Karen (Jim) Braun of St. Henry.
Mr. Gross was a 1956 graduate of Coldwater High School. He served proudly in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He worked for many years as an operator for the wastewater treatment plant for the City of Piqua from which he retired.
He enjoyed the outdoors and collecting Lionel Trains. He was a "jack of all trades" who could fix anything he put his hands on, especially cars. He loved spending time with his family who will miss him deeply.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 am Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas L. Bolte as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with a prayer service beginning at 5 pm.
