Ellen Britton
Ellen S. Britton, 83 of Sidney, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at 7:05 AM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love.
She was born on February 5, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ted and Fern (Watson) Yarger. On December 31, 1955 she married William Britton who preceded her in death May 26, 2009.
She is survived by three children, David (Emilie) Britton of New Bremen, Suzanne (Rob) Fridley of Sidney, and Pamala (Francesco Guerra) Britton of Worthington, nine grandchildren, Ben (Becky) Schmiesing, Kyle (Jaclyn) Schmiesing, Kacie (Pete) Pape, Sarah Schmiesing, Alex Britton, Nate (Emma) Fridley, William Fridley and fiancé Brittney Alexander, Ellen and Michelina Guerra, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Caroline Yarger.
Ellen retired from the Sidney YMCA childcare program. She served as a volunteer at United Way, YMCA, Gateway Arts, Dorothy Love, Salvation Army, Compassionate Care, and Planned Parenthood.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan, but the love of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3 to 6 PM and on Thursday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilson Hospice.
