Ruth Wale
Ruth E. Wale, 64, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 5:25 A.M. Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, following a short illness.
She was born December 9, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Kelley) Sampson. She married Dean Wale on December 5, 1970, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys; he survives at the residence.
She is also survived by her son, Brian Wale, of Saint Marys. She is survived by her four grandsons: Trent Wale, Carter Wale, Brett (Amy) Howell; Ben Howell. She is survived by three great-grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, and Evan Howell. Ruth is also survived by her siblings: David Sampson of Minster; Jim (Carla) Sampson of Saint Marys; John (Kathy) Sampson of Saint Marys; Pat (Kathy) Sampson of Saint Marys; Anna (Kevin) Katterhenry of Celina; Julie (Jim) Hollman of Saint Marys. Her mother-in-law, Mary Wale, also survives in Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her daughter, Brenda Howell, who died September 15, 2017; by her brother, Michael Sampson.
Ruth was a homemaker, and she loved babysitting. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and she will be remembered as a simple, generous woman who loved to give gifts to her family and friends. She was very devoted to her faith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, the Reverend Barry Stechschulte, celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the Friends of Holy Rosary School.
