He was born June 8, 1931 in Mendon, the son of Charles and Edna Mutersbaugh Fishbaugh, who are deceased. On February 18, 1956 he married Geraldine B. "Geri" Kittle, who died February 4, 2011.
Surviving are his children; Becky (John) Greber of Sarasota, FL.; Robert (Theresa Klosterman) Fishbaugh of Spencerville and Ron (Karen) Fishbaugh of Chiefland, FL.; his two grandchildren that they raised; Melissa (Scott) Hemrock of Mantua, OH. and Josh (Jen) Lowe of Mendon; three grandchildren; David (Natalie King) Hoffer of Fryburg; Jennifer (Stan) Gaberdiel of Sarasota, FL. and Kelly (Jason Roberts) Coby of Spencerville; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters; Edna Mae Poor of Celina and Josephine Meade of Spring, TX.; a sister-in-law; Martha Kittle of Celina and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a 1950 graduate of Mendon Union High School and went on to serve in the Army for three years during the Korean War. He had worked at the Nameplate & Monogram Company in Spencerville and for 30 plus years he worked as a bread salesman for Wonder Bread until he retired.
Growing up in Mendon in the tough times without a family car, he walked to school a long way to graduate. He missed a year of school with a Polio scare, but luckily it was a problem with his teeth, and when corrected he fully recovered.
In the war, he spent most of his time in Japan, guarding telecommunications towers. So after he was home, if you came to his door, he would say "Moshi Moshi", which is the Japanese way of saying hello. He never met a stranger and if you came at dinner time, you were forced to stay and eat.
He was a member of the Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191 of Spencerville. He loved working in his garden, traveling and listening to country music and sitting on his front porch watching it rain. He loved his pets, Peanut and Patches.
He was a great man and will be greatly missed, "Until We Meet Again."
Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Rev. Andrew J. Atkins officiating, with military rites following the service at the funeral home by the Spencerville Veterans. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.
