Albin Eilerman
Albin B. Eilerman, age 88, Sidney, passed away of natural causes Tuesday morning, December 26, 2017, at the Versailles Health Care Center in Versailles, Ohio.
He was born September 7, 1929, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Louis and Lauretta (Pleiman) Eilerman. On April 4, 1956, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood, Albin married Jeanette C. (Heckman) Eilerman who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Michael & Kimberly Eilerman and Jeffrey & Kathy Eilerman of Sidney; two grandchildren, Kelly Ann & Benjamin Watercutter and Kristin & Maxton Zalaquett along with one great-grandson, Lucas Watercutter; two sisters, Dorothy & Richard Schmidt of Sidney and Mary Lou Frantz of Sidney; sisters & brothers-in-law: Mary Ann & Ray DeLoye of Houston, Ruth Simon of Piqua, Paul & Irene Heckman of Dalhart, TX, Richard & Esther Heckman of Versailles and Delores Homan of Coldwater.
He was preceded in death by four siblings; Lawrence & Clarabelle Eilerman, Esther & Carl Perin, Robert & Katie Eilerman and Norma Eilerman along with a brother-in-law, John Frantz.
Mr. Eilerman was a Korean War Veteran. He served in the Army Air Force while in Korea and continued serving in the Army after leaving Korea.
Albin was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Fort Loramie American Legion Post 355 and a life member of the Sidney Disabled American Veterans. He retired from dairy farming and continued to enjoy refurbishing farm machinery and watching over the crops.
Albin was dedicated to his family and especially enjoyed interacting with his great-grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion.
Friends may call Tuesday 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
