Brookie Spence
Brookie Spence went to be with her loved ones in Heaven on February 15th at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Harts, West Virginia on September 3rd, 1927, Brookie was a daughter of the late Isaiah & Leota (Caldwell) Adkins. On May 27, 1953, she married Lonnie Spence, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1983.
Brookie leaves behind 9 children: Larry Spence of Anna, and Rena Spence, Brenda (Don) Kittle, Bonnie (Dana) Waxler, Penny (Ron) Felver, Jay Spence, Rex (Tammy) Spence and Lonnie Gene Spence, all of Celina, and Katie Cotterman of Spencerville, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Patrick, 11 brothers & sisters, sons-in-law, Dale Schwinnen and Louis Cotterman, daughters-in-law, Joann Spence and Dianna Kay Spence, and grandsons, Adam and Michael Schwinnen.
A homemaker, Brookie had enjoyed dancing and bowling. She loved cooking for her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina. Chaplain Anthony Perry will officiate. Burial will be at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18 and 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, at the Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to The Cancer Association of Mercer County.
