Mary A. (Buehler) Thobe, age 91, of Maria Stein, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Gardens of St. Henry.

She was born February 18, 1927, to the late George & Rose (Stammen) Buehler. On October 9, 1948, she married Werner "'Barney"' Thobe, and he died on August 24, 2005.

She is survived by her children, Gary & Elaine Thobe of Maria Stein, Janet & Ralph Rindler of St. Henry, Sharon & Randy Harris of Merritt Island, Florida, Douglas & Beverly of Celina, Vicki & Ron Winner of Maria Stein, Sue & Dan Drees of Columbus, and Pam Stucke of Maria Stein. Mary is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, in-laws: Jigs & Velma Thobe of Maria Stein, Toot Mescher of Coldwater, Mart & Tom Warner of New Bremen, Don & Patty Thobe of Maria Stein, Brownie & Shirley Thobe of Maria Stein, Margie & David Moeller of Cassella, Dutch & Jean Thobe of Maria Stein, Lois & Jay Hogenkamp of Carthagena, and Larry Thobe of St. Marys.

Mary is preceded in death by son-in-law, Jim Stucke, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, Siblings, Walter & Alvina Buehler, Clarence & Rose Buehler, Evelyn & Ben Bruening, Dorothy & Alvin Raterman, Clarine & Clarence Liette, Ginny & Bob Stupp, Ed & Marcene Buehler, and Phyllis Post, in-laws, Ed Post, Hoot Evers, Butch & Mary Thobe, Alice & Leonard Varno, Buck & Norma Thobe, Whitey & Ginny Thobe, Marilyn & Dale Miller, John Mescher, and Linda Thobe.

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the St. Ann Altar Rosary Sodality, the American Legion auxiliary drill team. Mary worked for 10 years as a school cook and at the Boeckman-Gast Canning plant in Minster.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 21, and from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
