Sally Andreoni
Sally S. Andreoni, 74, of New Bremen, OH died 3:30 p.m. Sunday June 10, 2018 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born November 1, 1943 in Toledo, OH to Charles Gerald and Frances (Nagel) Stienecker. On September 26, 1964 at Gesu Catholic Church in Toledo, OH she married John C. Andreoni, who survives.
Also survived by: daughter U.S. Army Lt. Col. Terri (Loren) Armstrong of College Park, MD; son Peter (Danielle) Andreoni of Jackson, TN; son Stephen Andreoni of Columbus, OH; 3 grandchildren: Hailee, Carson and Regan Andreoni; sister Sylvia (Charles) Schnapp of Harker Heights, TX.
Preceded in death by: parents Charles Gerald and Frances Stienecker.
She was a graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School (Class of 1962). She then earned a Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Dayton. Her teacher career included positions at Blue Valley High School in Kansas, St. Joseph's in Wapakoneta, OH and St. Marys City Schools. For a number of years, she also was an adjunct professor at Edison State Community College in Piqua, OH.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she served as a lector and a member of its parish council. Over the past forty years, Sally has touched the lives of many families through her work with the Ohio Child Conservation League (a non-profit organization that focuses on family life, moral and spiritual values, education and physical and mental health). She has served as the organization's state treasurer and district president.
The Beta Mu - BGSU alumna was a founding member of Kappa Delta's West Central Alumnae Chapter and served as its president for twenty-five years. Sally's favorite pastimes included reading playing Bridge, solving Sudoku puzzles, crocheting and water-color painting. An accomplished seamstress, she made clothes for her family and was particularly adept at making doll clothes.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 20, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Barry Stechschulte, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grand Lake Hospice.
